You've downloaded the app. You have a Ghana bank account number ready. Now what?

This guide walks through your first Klosa transfer — from signup to confirmation — so there are no surprises.

Step 1: Complete your identity verification

Klosa is a regulated financial service. Before you can transfer money, you'll need to verify your identity. This is a one-time process that takes about 3 minutes.

You'll need:

  • A government-issued photo ID (Canadian driver's licence or passport)
  • A selfie taken in-app

  • The verification is instant for most users. If it takes longer, our team reviews manually within 2 hours.

Step 2: Add a payment method

Once verified, connect a Canadian debit card or bank account. Klosa supports Visa Debit, Mastercard Debit, and Interac e-Transfer for funding transfers.

Your payment information is stored securely and never shared with third parties.

Step 3: Set up your recipient

Tap "Send Money" and add a recipient. You'll need:

  • Their full name (as it appears on their bank account)
  • Their Ghana bank name (GCB, Ecobank, Fidelity, Access, etc.)
  • Their account number

  • Save recipients for future transfers — most Klosa users find they're sending to the same 2-3 people regularly.

Step 4: Enter your amount and confirm

Type in how much you want to send. Klosa shows you:

  • The live exchange rate (mid-market, no markup)
  • The fee: **GHS 0.00** — it's always free
  • The exact amount your recipient will receive
  • The estimated arrival time: under 2 minutes

  • If everything looks right, tap "Send now."

    What happens after you send?

Within seconds, Klosa processes the transfer and routes it to the recipient's Ghana bank. Most transfers land in **under 2 minutes** during Ghana banking hours (Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm GMT).

You'll receive a push notification and email confirmation. Your recipient's bank may also send them an SMS notification when the funds arrive.

    Common questions

What if I entered the wrong account number?

Contact Klosa support immediately via in-app chat. If the transfer hasn't been processed, we can cancel it. If it has been processed to an incorrect account, we'll work with the receiving bank to recall the funds — this can take 3–5 business days.

    Can I schedule recurring transfers?

Not yet — but it's on the roadmap. In the meantime, you can re-use saved recipients to make repeat transfers take under 30 seconds.

What's the maximum I can send?

CAD 10,000 per transfer, CAD 25,000 per month for fully verified accounts. Contact support if you need higher limits.

Your first transfer is always the hardest. After that, it takes about 30 seconds.
